About the Game

In Deathloop, you play as Colt, an assassin stuck in a perpetual time loop on the mysterious island of Blackreef, inspired by the 1960s Faroe Islands. The island, once a secret military base, housed a top-secret program called AEON, created to pursue immortality. To end the loop, Colt must eliminate eight key targets, known as Visionaries, in a single day. If even one survives, the cycle resets, forcing Colt to start over.

Using a mix of stealth, parkour, and tactical attacks, Colt must plan his perfect assassination spree. Each loop presents subtle changes, but the Visionaries mostly follow predictable patterns—except for Julianna.

Multiplayer Mode

Deathloop features a multiplayer mode where players can control Julianna, whose mission is to protect the time loop and hunt down Colt. As Julianna, you can invade another player’s game, adding an exciting element of unpredictability and player-vs-player combat. If you prefer a solo experience, you can disable this feature, but AI-controlled Julianna will still challenge you. Beware—Julianna can disguise herself as other NPCs, even as Colt!

Unique Gameplay Mechanics

Though stealth is an option, it only provides a temporary advantage—once you start attacking, enemies will engage. The game is set across four time periods in a day, and the party moves in predictable patterns, allowing you to explore the island’s secrets at your own pace.

The game’s motto, “If at first you don’t succeed, die and die again,” emphasizes the roguelike elements. Each loop is a learning opportunity, allowing you to make better choices, gain valuable insights, and ultimately succeed in your mission.
